It is always exciting to think about what might happen when two completely different artists decide to team up and produce a new collaboration. But it can also be a disappointment when the result sounds a bit like a tug-of-war between two visions, or a competition between the two artists. Luckily, that’s not the case with Mike Sheridan and The Danish Youth Ensemble. Not only do they avoid these pitfalls, but soars above them with rare and wonderful transcendence.
Mike Sheridan and The Danish Youth Ensemble visited the studio last week to record strings for Mike’s upcoming album, which will feature a lot of beautiful and weird string arrangements composed by himself. We’ve never had 30 people in the studio at once, but it was a lot of fun! Afterwards, the work was mixed on our vintage Neve console and it sounds incredibly fat. We’ll keep you posted when we have a release date.
